Frequently asked questions
How do I get started?
Install the NimbleDesk desktop app on the Windows PC you want to control, then sign in with the same account on the desktop app and on the web client at app.nimble-desk.com (or the iOS app, if available). Your desktop will appear in the app once it’s online — tap it to connect. See the Downloads page to grab the installer.
My devices won't connect, or the connection keeps dropping
NimbleDesk tries a direct peer-to-peer connection first and automatically falls back to relay infrastructure if a direct connection can’t be established. If you’re having trouble: confirm both devices have an active internet connection, check that the desktop app is running and signed in on the Host computer, try disabling any VPN temporarily, and make sure your firewall isn’t blocking the NimbleDesk desktop app. If problems persist, email us at support@nimble-desk.com with your platform and a description of what you’re seeing.
What is relay data / relay usage?
NimbleDesk always attempts a direct peer-to-peer connection first, so most sessions never touch our servers. When a direct connection isn't possible (strict NATs, some cellular networks), your encrypted traffic is routed through relay infrastructure instead — that's the only part of your usage that's metered against your plan's monthly allowance. You can see your usage from within the app.
How do I manage or cancel my subscription?
If you subscribed through the Apple App Store, manage or cancel your subscription from your iPhone or iPad under Settings > [your name] > Subscriptions, or from the App Store app. If you subscribed on the web, manage your subscription and payment method from the account settings page inside the NimbleDesk app.
How do I delete my account and my data?
Open the NimbleDesk app (web, or desktop) and go to your account settings page, then choose Delete Account. This permanently deletes your account, registered devices, connections, invitations, and other account-related data. This action is irreversible and cannot be undone by us on your behalf, so please make sure before confirming. See our Privacy Policy for details on what is deleted and any limited retention that applies.
What platforms does NimbleDesk support?
The NimbleDesk host app runs on Windows. You can connect to your Windows PC from the web client (any modern browser, on desktop or mobile) or from the NimbleDesk iOS app, if available in your region.
Is my data and my remote session private?
Yes. Remote desktop video, audio, and control data are transmitted using encrypted peer-to-peer connections whenever possible, and encrypted relay infrastructure otherwise. NimbleDesk does not record or store your remote desktop video, audio, keyboard input, mouse input, or controller input. See our Privacy Policy for the full details.
I found a bug or a security issue — how do I report it?
We’d appreciate hearing about it. Please email support@nimble-desk.com with as much detail as you can (steps to reproduce, your platform, and app version), and for security issues, please report responsibly rather than disclosing publicly.
